In Winston-Salem, coffee shops cluster around downtown offices, college campuses and the main commercial streets of residential neighborhoods, and the independents usually close by mid-afternoon while chains stay open into the evening. Across North Carolina, drive-thru coffee stands and kiosks fill the gap in suburbs and along highways, and roasters often sell bags and brewing gear at the counter. Check the listing for hours, whether the cafe takes mobile orders, and its Google rating and recent reviews; parking is easiest at suburban locations, while downtown shops rely on street meters or nearby garages. Loyalty programs are common and worth joining if you are a regular.

We traveled from Kansas City to Winston-Salem and somehow ended up finding the breakfast place I now wish I could pick up, put in the car, and bring home with us. Krankies absolutely lived up to the hype, and honestly, the name fits perfectly because this place will knock the β€œKrankie” right out of your morning. We sat outside, which was a great move because the weather was nice, the atmosphere was relaxed, and we could fully appreciate the serious amount of breakfast sitting in front of us. We ordered two egg and cheese biscuits, one with sausage and one with bacon. Both were excellent. The biscuits were warm, buttery, fluffy, and big enough to make you feel like you ordered an actual meal instead of a sad little breakfast snack. The eggs were fresh, the cheese was melted perfectly, the sausage had great flavor, and the bacon brought the crispy, salty goodness that bacon is legally required to provide. Then came the Hangover Helper, which is less of a breakfast sandwich and more of a full-scale recovery operation. It is stacked with brined and fried chicken, egg, bacon, American cheese, Texas Pete, and housemade sausage gravy. It sounds like a lot because it is a lot, and I mean t

It’s been a while since I was here last, but they seem to always be improving on the atmosphere. Food was already great, but the addition of more outdoor seating that has a rustic theme really highlights the physical location and history of Winston Salem.

The drinks were EXTREMELY watered down and the outdoor area reeked of animal urine! The prices were drastically overpriced.. $50 for 3 biscuits and watery coffees and a matcha πŸ’” On the bright side the staff was very friendly

Krankies has a nice vibe. Great place to do some remote work. I like the variety and uniqueness of the menu. Employees are friendly. I got a bacon egg and cheese it was good. My iced matcha latte was good also but the potato wedges were very very salty. Tasted old like they were recooked multiple times, they were hard and kinda cold. Overall I would come back for the matcha but I don’t recommend the potato wedges at all.

This is a place to go and get some Breakfast. I cannot believe that I found a hidden gem. The wait is well worth it. The food is amazing. The coffee is spot on. I highly would mix it up at the table and try each others. The espresso muffin is so good. I promise you will not be disappointed.
